Steps

1. Completely saturate the hair with warm water.
2. Apply Clever Curl Cleanser Shampoo to your palms and distribute through the scalp and hair.
3. Gently massage the scalp with your fingertips to lift product residue, excess oils and environmental buildup.
4. Add more warm water and allow the Cleanser to flow through the lengths and ends, gently scrunching as you go.
5. Rinse thoroughly, then repeat the cleansing process for a more thorough scalp and hair cleanse.
6. After the final rinse, keep the hair thoroughly saturated. Apply Clever Curl Rich Conditioner to the ends first, then work through the mid lengths and glaze any remaining conditioner over the hair.
7. Distribute evenly using a wet brush, roping or the squish to condish technique.
8. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. A small amount can remain if your curls need additional conditioning.
9. When your curls need more intensive conditioning, apply Clever Curl Curl Treatment to saturated hair, concentrating first on the ends and mid lengths.
10. Distribute evenly using a wet brush, roping or the squish to condish technique.
11. Leave the Curl Treatment in for up to 10 minutes. A hair steamer or cap can be used during this time if desired.
12. Rinse thoroughly. If using the Curl Treatment as a leave in instead, apply a smaller amount through wet hair using praying hands, finger raking or a wet brush, then scrunch upwards.
13. Apply 1–2 pumps of Clever Curl Wonderfoam to wet palms and distribute evenly through wet hair.
14. Scrunch the curls upwards to encourage natural definition, bounce and volume.
15. Leave Wonderfoam in and allow the hair to air dry, plop or diffuse.
16. For stronger definition and longer lasting hold, apply Clever Curl Curl Gel over Wonderfoam before drying.

Professional tip

Rich Conditioner and Curl Treatment do not need to provide the same level of conditioning at every wash. Use Rich Conditioner as your regular conditioning step, then introduce Curl Treatment when your curls need a more intensive moisture and conditioning boost. Keep the hair well saturated, concentrate both products through the mid lengths and ends, and leave the Treatment on for up to 10 minutes when deep conditioning. If using Curl Treatment as a leave in, start with a smaller amount to avoid unnecessary product weight. Finish with 1–2 pumps of Wonderfoam for lightweight definition and light to medium hold, adding Curl Gel only when stronger hold is wanted.
